Very un-Methodist

While doing some reading through my blogroll today, I saw Josh Tinley make a comment about top down, unilateral decisions as un-Methodist.

I saw a picture the other day that was decidedly un-Methodist, and rather than rant, I'll share the picture, and some links to other folks who have made claims of un-Methodist behavior. [BTW-I dredged these from the search function in Google Reader]

WOW. That's really disturbing. How can folks not understand that reason and logic can inform and strengthen your faith?

It's not very baptist, either. It's one thing to say that God and Faith can go beyond logic and reason, but it is entirely different to say that they go against them.

"Scripture, Tradition, Experience, REASON" Sound familiar to any Wesley Theologians?

I agree, this sign is very disturbing, and it's battles like these within the universal church that we have to fight that cause people unaffiliated with the church at all to want to stay away. Can we honeslty blame them?

I'm absolutely baffled as to what the link is between this picture and my post for July 27 2007!

But please feel free to send more visitors my way, who I hope will click on the side bar to read my more recent posts

David,
The link to your post had to do with your use of the term "un-Methodist" in the blog. That was the very superficial relationship, but I thought it interesting in the way that we use the term "un-Methodist".
Peace,

Thanks for the link...I was wondering why a post from almost 2 years ago was generating traffic to my site.

As a follow up, my church did not use Lifeway curriculum in 2007, nor do they plan to in 2008.

Peace,
Dean
