Quote of the Day

Saw this one and it fits ever so nicely with the process for Visioning we have at Ojai UMC.

Go to the people.

Live with them.

Learn from them.

Love them.

Start with what they know.

Build with what they have.

But with the best leaders, when the work is done, the task accomplished, the people will say "We have done this ourselves."

I really like the quote, of course.

But, my question now — as before— is: "what might be missing here?" Is this a full picture of the nature of leadership, or is there something else?

Craig,
My first question back to you is whether you have the answer, or are asking an as yet unanswered question?
I do feel there are some things that allow for leadership. I think one of which is an inherent sense of leadership and authority. An ability to learn, and teach. Additionally, I think we can find in scriptures several examples of the need for God's hand to be upon the leader for success to occur.
Peace,
