Just what I needed

John Smulo offers up "A Shot of Idealism"

Just what I needed before I started to do Visioning cluster meetings tonight.

Helpful questions.

As I enter into this time of discernment with the congregation, I am mindful of how difficult it could be to remind myself that this is not going to be easy, but that it is all-too-necessary.

Helpful quotes:

Every person takes the limits of their own field of vision for the limits of the world.  Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 - 1860)

We go where our vision is.Joseph Murphy

Every creator painfully experiences the chasm between his inner vision and its ultimate expression.Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904 - 1991)

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.Woodrow Wilson (1856 - 1924)

For visions come not to polluted eyes. Mary Howitt

Before you begin a thing, remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to foresee are ahead. If you could see them clearly, naturally you could do a great deal to get rid of them but you can't. You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal. Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin.Kathleen Norris
